Job Description
Archer Aviation is seeking an Architecture Lead, HV Battery to lead battery pack architecture layouts and tradeoff studies. The successful candidate will own the external battery envelope, working with the vehicle layout team to develop interface points. They will also own the top-level battery pack assembly, managing internal interfaces between subsystems and ensuring proper assembly and function.Role involves:
- Leading battery pack architecture layouts and tradeoff studies.
- Owning external battery envelope .
- Managing internal interfaces between subsystems.
- Conducting tolerance analyses.
- Leading weekly battery pack CAD reviews and flythroughs.
- Owning the battery pack engineering BOM and defining the team’s release process.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of mechanical design experience
- Experience with HV systems
- Expert understanding of efficient mechanical/thermal/electrical design.
- Solid background in CAD / tolerance stack / GD&T (NX experience preferred)
- Experience going through the product development process from concept to high volume production.
- Familiar with UN38.3, IEC, UL, and ISO standards as they pertain to HV batteries.
