Job Description
SpecterOps is seeking a Senior Defensive Security Consultant to join their Consulting Services team. This role involves serving as an analyst, detection engineer, and program developer, contributing to the Adversary Detection service line. The consultant will provide strategic advisory services to enhance customers' internal detection capabilities, perform independent assessments, and proactively identify adversaries. They will also support SpecterOps training offerings by developing course content and delivering training.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating evasion-resilient detections.
- Evaluating and improving existing detection content.
- Evaluating the maturity of security operations roles.
- Utilizing common security tooling and telemetry sources.
- Building scripts and tools to enhance investigation processes.
- Serving as a subject matter expert.
- Communicating findings to team members and clients.
- Developing reports and presentations.
- Assisting with scoping engagements and mentoring staff.
- Contributing to SpecterOps training courses.
- Creating and delivering content (e.g., blog posts, presentations).
Requirements include:
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25%).
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

- Meets desired qualifications for a Consultant, plus the following A clear expert in one or more service lines and/or technical areas
- Ability to lead and execute most defensive service offerings (e.g., detection engineering, maturity assessment, purple team assessment, program development, etc.)
- Experience leading small teams and engagements
- Experience managing multiple projects at once
- Experience communicating with clients and delivering presentations
- Experience independently managing client projects
- Willingness to develop and deliver training content as a lead course instructor
- Willingness to mentor and train fellow consultants
