Job Description
West Cancer Center is seeking a Patient Scheduling Coordinator to play a critical role in coordinating patient appointments, ensuring registration accuracy, and assisting with insurance verification and referral processes. The Patient Scheduling Coordinator demands exceptional communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities. This role does not involve nights, weekends, or holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and representatives professionally.
- Verify and update demographic and insurance information.
- Schedule office visits, lab work, radiology tests, and internal referrals.
- Respond to phone calls and emails related to appointment scheduling.
- Send appointment reminders or rescheduling letters.
- Assist patients with requests and resolve scheduling issues.
- Collaborate with care support and maintain referral documentation.
- Support administrative functions and provide peer coverage.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a patient-first approach.
- Participate in training and orientation of new staff.
- Attend staff meetings and maintain timely communication with leadership.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Six months of related experience in healthcare or administrative role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, follow-up, and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in computer systems and scheduling software.
- Ability to prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving skills and sound judgment under minimal supervision.
- Team-oriented, professional demeanor with a patient-first mindset.
