Software Engineer, Developer Tooling

Job Description

Whatnot is seeking a Software Engineer to join their Developer Tooling team. This role is pivotal in enhancing developer productivity and ensuring efficient software delivery. The Software Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the CI/CD pipeline, building local environment tooling, and optimizing developer workflows.Whatnot is the largest livestream shopping platform in North America and Europe. They blend community, shopping, and entertainment into a community just for you. They are a remote co-located team, inspired by innovation and anchored in their values.Responsibilities:

• Maintaining an efficient CI/CD pipeline.
• Building local environment tooling.
• Deploying services across different environments.
• Implementing and optimizing developer workflow.
• Providing recommendations for architecture and process improvements.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of developer productivity or similar experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Excellent developer experience instincts.
• Experience at a hyper-growth startup.
• Prior experience in a public cloud environment (AWS, GCP) using Kubernetes, Docker, and/or Terraform.
• Expert knowledge of various CI/CD workflows.
• Exceptional coding skills (Python and Elixir preferred).
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
