Job Description
Whatnot is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to lead Workday Payroll and Time Tracking. The role involves collaborating with Payroll, People Operations, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver an exceptional employee experience. The ideal candidate will have strong internal customer support skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.

As Senior Business Systems Analyst at Whatnot, he/she will:
  • Lead configuration, maintenance and long term system strategy of Workday Payroll and Time Tracking.
  • Provide production support by triaging, resolving, and preventing system issues.
  • Maintain security role assignments to ensure compliance and system integrity.
  • Recommend and implement system enhancements to improve capabilities.
  • Conduct training sessions on new system updates and changes while providing ongoing support to ensure user adoption and understanding of system functionality.
  • Build customized reports to meet business and stakeholder needs.
  • Partner closely with senior & cross-functional partners to build and report on team OKRs and roadmap
  • Support and scale international payroll systems to ensure global compliance and operational efficiency.

Whatnot requires that he/she has:
  • 5+ years of experience supporting and configuring Workday, with deep knowledge of Payroll and Time Tracking.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and change management processes related to SaaS tools. 
  • Strong ability to connect the dots between processes, operations, and technical solutions, driving both tactical and strategic outcomes.
  • Detailed knowledge of core business processes related to the employee lifecycle ('hire to retire'), payroll, and total rewards, on a local and international basis. 
  • Hands-on experience creating and scaling Workday security, access management, and compliance. 
  • Initiative to address challenges head-on, seeking solutions and driving results rather than waiting for others to act.
  • Passionate about assessing new features, making informed recommendations, and driving system enhancements that scale with the business.
  • Thrive in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated success in fast-paced environments, building scalable systems and processes from scratch with minimal guidance.
  • A hands-on problem solver who values precision and can balance immediate needs with long-term strategic goals.
