The Financial Times is seeking a Client Relationship Executive/Manager (CRE/M) to focus on retaining and growing business in the Tokyo region. The role requires negotiation skills and excellent relationship management.

The CRE/M is responsible for the retention and upselling of existing business and focuses on developing an annual sales plan for their bank of business. Regular client contact, building relationships, and engagement activities are required to support retention, upsell, and cross-selling.

The candidate will collaborate with the parent company on projects and duties as assigned.

Role Involves:
  • Achieving retention and upsell business targets.
  • Handling customer issues effectively.
  • Planning activities with the Customer Success team.
  • Conducting client meetings and building relationships.
  • Maintaining awareness of account health.
  • Documenting sales activity in Salesforce.
  • Staying updated on market and competitor developments.
  • Providing customer insight for product development.
  • Planning renewal dates in advance.
Requirements:
  • Consultative sales approach.
  • Experience in cross-selling.
  • Account management experience, meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Experience in face-to-face and virtual client meetings.
  • Well-developed influencing skills.
  • Eagerness to understand the value of the FT.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • High level of initiative and motivation.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Fluency in English and business-level Japanese.
