Machine Learning Scientist II - Causal Inference at Tripadvisor

Tripadvisor is seeking an experienced Data Scientist II specializing in Causal Inference to join their team in Lisbon, Portugal. This role is available as office-based, hybrid, or fully remote within Portugal. The successful candidate will be instrumental to developing and implementing best practices in experimental design, A/B testing, analysis of observational data, panel data analysis, and time-series modeling. They will collaborate with various teams to determine optimal testing strategies across different projects.  This position offers a chance to significantly impact the company's growth by influencing feature deployment through rigorous experimentation.

• Designing and implementing best practices in experiment design and A/B testing.
• Analyzing observational data, panel data, and time-series data.
• Collaborating with data scientists, analysts, product managers, and engineers.
• Staying updated on statistical research and methodologies.

• PhD in Statistics/Biostatistics, Economics, Mathematics, or related field (or masters with 2+ years of practical experience).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Expertise in causal inference and/or experimental/quasi-experimental design.
• Experience with time-series modeling and analysis of repeated-measures data.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R.
