Job Description
Box is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager II to lead engineering teams in its Warsaw office. This role involves leading, inspiring, and mentoring engineers, bridging communication between the US and Poland engineering hubs, and fostering a collaborative work environment. The Engineering Manager will spearhead significant technology initiatives and oversee the entire lifecycle of projects across multiple architectural layers.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of experienced engineers in Poland.
  • Define the team's roadmap, execution plans, and take ownership of project delivery.
  • Develop team members through 1:1s, career planning, coaching discussions, and hiring.
  • Uphold values by building a collaborative, inclusive team focused on customer impact.
  • Cultivate a culture of excellence through emphasis on execution, quality, and scale.
  • Organize stand-ups, sprint planning, technical discussions, and manage sprint task statuses.
  • Collaborate with product teams to scope new features, provide project estimates, and inform quarterly commitments.
  • Work with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to ensure the team delivers significant business impact.
  • Represent Box internally and externally.

Requirements:
  • Over 2 years of experience as a software engineering manager, leading teams responsible for high-scale production services.
  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience, contributing to the development of full-stack web applications and/or distributed systems.
  • Experience aligning and executing new technical ideas, demonstrating an understanding of best practices.
  • Proven experience in driving effective execution with agile processes in a dynamic environment.
  • A people-oriented leader, capable of modelling and fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Passion for technology and commitment to raising the bar.
  • Experience working with distributed teams across different time zones is advantageous.
  • Proficient in English.
