Senior Software Engineer, Messaging Events at Box

Box is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Messaging Platform team in Warsaw, Poland. As the world’s leading Content Cloud, Box is trusted by numerous organizations to protect their data, fuel collaboration, and power critical workflows. The Messaging Platform team provides the foundational infrastructure for core products like the Events API, Box Drive, and Box Canvas.

The Senior Software Engineer will play a crucial role in architecting and developing the next generation of messaging systems at Box, working across existing services, and implementing new features. This person will contribute to improving infrastructure and developer efficiency and will work to migrate services to Google's Cloud Platform.

Role Involves:

• Architecting and developing the next generation messaging systems.
• Implementing new services and use cases while phasing out the old ones.
• Guiding client engineering teams on how best to take advantage of interfaces.
• Driving wider adoption of interfaces across engineering by identifying compatible use cases.
• Developing and implementing initiatives to ensure systems consistently meet availability, performance, and reliability SLOs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong understanding of common algorithms, data structures and code design principles.
• Strong grasp of high-scale distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Java/Scala, MySQL, Pub/Sub, BigQuery.
• Passionate about database scale and performance challenges.
• Strong sense of ownership, persistence and drive, strong communication.
