Job Description
Box is seeking a Senior Staff Software Architect to join their Security, Enterprise, and Compliance (SEC) team. This role involves influencing the technical direction for the entire SEC Org and working cross-functionally within various domains. The architect will make key architectural decisions within Security Admin facing products powered by ML, as well as compliance feature offerings. They will collaborate with Engineering and Product leaders on prioritization and business trade-off discussions, guiding the teams effectively. The role also includes influencing the technical roadmap to build large-scale data processing with quality gates and a developer productivity mindset.
  • Drive complex architectural decisions across Security, Enterprise Admin products, and Compliance offerings.
  • Coach and develop senior technical leaders.
  • Contribute to company objectives across team and function.
  • Work hands-on with code, prototyping and contributing production changes.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to refine requirements.
  • Use a data-driven approach to devise strategies for processing customer content.
  • Lead architecture-oriented discussions within the SEC organization.
  • Be a go-to person for the local teams in Poland.
Requirements:
  • 12+ years of hands-on software development experience, with a focus on building distributed systems in Java.
  • Extensive experience in software architecture and system design roles.
  • Experience in migrating monolith application to microservices.
  • Experience working with large volumes of data and traffic and how to scale systems efficiently.
  • Experience with SaaS offering that have 4 9’s or higher SLA requirements.
  • Experience in processing data for use in AI/ML applications is a huge plus.
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be able to travel to the US (Redwood City, California) at least twice a year.
