Box is seeking a Senior Accountant to join Box Japan KK. This role involves overseeing general accounting duties, tax, and treasury responsibilities. The Senior Accountant will work cross-functionally with other teams, especially with the US headquarters, and will be tasked with various projects to build world-class processes and systems.

What this role involves:
  • Preparing journal entries and resolving errors.
  • Driving month-end close responsibilities, including account reconciliation.
  • Researching on month-end variance (flux) analyses.
  • Preparing audit-related requests accurately and timely.
  • Working closely with a tax firm to file tax returns.
  • Ensuring compliance with SOX and recommending process improvements.
  • Designing and implementing streamlined processes and system enhancements.
  • Collaborating with other departments on accounting matters.
  • Assisting with ad-hoc projects.


Requirements:
  • Fluency in Japanese and business-level English.
  • 6-10 years of accounting experience.
  • Excellent teamwork, time management, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • BA degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics preferred.
  • Understanding of US GAAP and familiarity with SOX.
  • J-tax knowledge a plus.
  • Strong MS Excel skills; NetSuite, Concur, Blackline, or Coupa experience a plus.
