Senior Support Engineer

GroupM, a part of WPP, is seeking a Senior Support Engineer to join the Global Investment Systems team. This role is based in the Chennai office of GEC (Global Engineering Centre) and involves providing day-to-day operational and application support for investment data warehouse solutions, bespoke applications, reporting, and visualisation dashboards.

The Senior Support Engineer will lead and mentor junior support engineers, troubleshoot technical issues, prioritise issues, and provide workarounds. They will also analyse the root cause of problems, perform data profiling, monitor server activities, collaborate with the DevOps team, and communicate new releases and changes.

Requirements:

• Ability to coordinate with different parties
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Hands-on application support experience in Microsoft technology
• Ability to write moderately complex SQL queries
• Experience with data interface and integration between systems
• Experience using troubleshooting tools and methods
• Experience working with enterprise BI tools, particularly Power BI
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks
• Self-starter with a positive and proactive attitude
• Ability to rapidly learn new IT systems and tools
• Good problem-solving skills
• Customer-centric mindset
• Willing to work on shifts that support different time zones worldwide
• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or a relevant discipline
• 5 to 7 years of full-time professional experience in applications support
