Staff Frontend Engineer at Technology & Product

Zeals, a fast-growing tech company in Japan, is seeking a Staff Frontend Engineer to contribute to their conversational commerce technology. The role involves leading the development of user-facing features, building reusable components, and optimizing web applications for speed and scalability. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive user experiences, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the technical direction of the frontend team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced frontend features.
• Architect and build reusable components and libraries.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
• Optimize frontend performance.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to define and implement API contracts.
• Mentor and guide junior frontend engineers.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in frontend development.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in frontend engineering.
• Proficiency in React.js or Vue.js and a deep understanding of Typescript.
• Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript build tools and frameworks.
• Extensive experience in writing scalable and maintainable CSS/SCSS.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Experience in working with micro-frontend architecture.
• Proven experience in optimizing web applications for performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Previous experience leading or mentoring a team.
