Senior Data Scientist (Japanese JLPT N1 required) at Dataiku

Dataiku is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their team in Tokyo, Japan. Dataiku is a company that provides a platform that makes data actionable and accessible, enabling data experts and domain experts to work together to build AI into their daily operations.

As a Senior Data Scientist at Dataiku, the candidate will have a unique role, as they will code solutions to real-world problems and participate in client-facing endeavors. This includes supporting their discovery of the platform, helping integrate Dataiku, user training, and co-developing data science projects from design to deployment.

Role involves:

• Scoping and co-developing production-level data science projects with customers across different industries and use cases
• Helping users discover and master the Dataiku platform via user training, office hours, and ongoing consultative support
• Providing strategic input to the customer and account teams
• Providing data science expertise to customers and internally to Dataiku’s sales and marketing teams
• Leading technical data science projects, pre-sales scoping, and designing proposals
• Flagging technical and non-technical account risks
• Developing custom Python-based “plugins”
• Leading Data Scientist engagements
• Running demo booth/tech talk duties at company public events
• Contributing to internal assets

Requirements:

• Japanese - JLPT N1; highly proficient in spoken and written English
• Curiosity and a desire to learn new topics and skills
• Empathy for others and an eagerness to share your knowledge and expertise
• The ability to clearly explain complex topics to technical as well as non-technical audiences
• 8 years + of experience in advanced analytics, data science projects, or consulting
• Over 5 years of experience with Python and SQL
• Over 5 years of experience with building ML models and using ML tools (e.g. sklearn)
• Experience with LLM
• Experience with data visualization and building web apps with Python frameworks (Dash, Streamlit)
• Understanding of underlying data systems such as Cloud architectures and SQL
• Travel to the client site
