MLRO Malta at OKX

OKX is seeking a MLRO in Malta to lead and build a financial crime compliance team. This role involves enhancing the financial crime compliance program, monitoring developments locally, and providing strategic direction to business partners. The MLRO will report to the Head of Compliance EMEA, with matrix reporting to local management.

Responsibilities:

• Leading the OKCoin Europe (Malta) financial crime compliance team.
• Developing and maintaining robust financial crime compliance policies.
• Engaging cross-functionally to implement an effective compliance program.
• Monitoring compliance with Maltese / EU laws and regulations.
• Overseeing compliance reviews and investigations.
• Participating in Board committee meetings.
• Conducting and overseeing company training.
• Liaising with other second and third line teams.
• Acting as a point of contact for financial crime compliance issues.
• Preparing financial crime compliance reports.
• Assisting with special projects.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in financial crime compliance within financial services, payments, fintech, or cryptocurrency.
• Experience leading an effective financial crime compliance program in line with Malta / EU standards.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Prior MLRO or DMLRO experience, or equivalent senior compliance role.
• Knowledge of EU financial regulations, e.g., EU Fifth Money Laundering Directives.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated, critical thinker, and adept at working independently and in a team.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of the crypto industry.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
