OKX is seeking a Team Lead for AML Operations to manage the establishment of the Transaction Monitoring & AML Investigations team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The candidate will help with recruitment and establish processes, policies, and procedures/guidelines. The ideal candidate should have prior AML transaction monitoring and investigations leadership experience in financial services, FinTech, or cryptocurrency industries.

The role involves managing a team of high-performing AML investigators, conducting research using internal and external sources, creating and maintaining AML investigation procedures, conducting periodic risk assessments, developing AML training programs, and collaborating with other teams.

What This Role Involves:

  • Creating strategy to build and mature the AML Operations team.
  • Managing day-to-day operational and capacity needs.
  • Managing a team of AML investigators.
  • Reviewing potential matches against regulatory watchlists.
  • Conducting research to determine potentially suspicious activity.
  • Creating and maintaining AML investigation procedures and processes.
  • Conducting periodic risk assessments.
  • Developing and delivering AML training programs.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Risk teams.
  • Staying up-to-date with AML-related regulatory developments.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in transaction monitoring and AML.
  • 2+ years in people management / leadership.
  • Excellent knowledge of AML/CFT/Sanctions, money transmission regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing TM&AML strategies for optimization and efficiency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of business functions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-phased, dynamic environment.
  • Natural coach, mentor and leader with commitment to supporting team growth.
  • Strong writing, analytical and communications skills.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English is required.
