The ACLU is seeking a Senior Project Manager Consultant for a two-year consultancy engagement within the Technology Department of our National office in New York City. This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence two (2) days per week or eight (8) days per month.

The ACLU Technology Department is a broad umbrella covering both the ACLU’s Analytics and its Product & Engineering teams, two robust and innovative divisions that power the work of the ACLU. The department provides trusted, dependable, and impactful analytics, engineering, as well as product design and management expertise for the ACLU. In partnership with experts across the ACLU, the technology team delivers best-in-class solutions, services, and innovation that advance the ACLU mission and organizational priorities.

The Tech team strives to ensure the ACLU leads by example in the ethical use of technology by ensuring privacy and security standards are maintained, directional insights are used to inform programming and business strategy, best-in-class products are designed to get the ACLU message out into the world and grow the ACLU supporter base, as well as to help steward high standards for algorithmic fairness, accountability, and transparency.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Reporting to the Director of Product Management, the Senior Project Manager Consultant will manage the implementation of a new fundraising CRM for the nationwide fundraising program, supporting national ACLU and all 54 affiliates.  The Senior Project Manager will partner with a variety of technical and program stakeholders to manage and facilitate all workstreams that will lead to the successful implementation of a CRM, including but not limited to ensuring business alignment, operations and governance, vendor management, architecture, functional build, data migration and integrity, training, and security and compliance.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

Ensure all stakeholder groups – ranging from executive sponsors and senior leadership to technical team and operational counterparts – are aligned, and organizational needs are integrated into project plan and methodology for the nationwide fundraising CRM implementation. Develop and manage full scope project plan and schedule; monitor project progress and set deadlines; ensure project is on time, in scope, and within budget Lead cross-functional and cross-departmental working group of internal stakeholders and vendors/consultants, ensuring all project deliverables are on track and owners of discreet workstreams are accountable Serve as chief liaison with Technology and Development project leads to ensure that organizational goals and priorities are met Draft and distribute regular progress reports for senior leadership and stakeholders with key metrics and analyses Identify project risks and work with Technology and Development project leads to develop solutions; facilitate decision making and resolution Manage budget and vendor contracts, in partnership with the Technology and Development project leads Works closely with stakeholders to explore and identify product requirements and create documentation for projects in partnership with the Technology project leads, as needed Manage UAT and testing workflows, creating new processes as needed Oversee internal communications and change management plan to national and affiliate staff; support the development of the creation of these plans Support efforts to recruit staff to enable the long-term success and sustainability of the fundraising CRM Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Experience directly managing enterprise-wide projects spanning a depth, breadth, and magnitude comparable in scope to a nationwide fundraising CRM implementation Demonstrated experience successfully managing large, complex projects from inception and design to implementation and maintenance Proven track record of managing diverse teams Proven problem solver, with the ability to handle difficult situations and unexpected challenges Demonstrated experience managing large budgets, vendors, and consultants Ability to manage and oversee multiple, complex workstreams ranging from technical, programmatic, and operational simultaneously Familiarity with Salesforce and Blackbaud tools, and fundraising best practices Excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills Excellent diplomacy skills with a demonstrated ability to manage up, down, and laterally to keep stakeholders aligned and moving forward Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, simultaneously handle many tasks, work efficiently and quickly, and meet deadlines, while remaining composed under pressure

COMPENSATION

The ACLU has established a maximum salary of $280,000 per year for this role. The final salary will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience.
