Job Description

Discord is seeking a Public Policy Advisor to join its Public Policy/Government Relations team. The advisor will play a crucial role in building trust and finding common ground with policymakers, regulators, and other stakeholders in the U.S. and Canada.Discord is a platform used by millions of people every month. The company recognizes its important role in the future of gaming and is focused on making it easier for people to connect and hang out.Responsibilities:

• Introducing Discord to government policymakers and educating them on the company's vision and products.
• Advocating for Discord’s position on key legislative and regulatory initiatives.
• Engaging in public policy coalitions with peer companies and civil society organizations.
• Monitoring and analyzing policy developments in the U.S. and Canada.
• Developing public policy materials such as position papers and presentations.
• Engaging with cross-functional partners.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in government, public policy advocacy, and/or government relations.
• Deep insight on the policymaking process in the U.S.
• Ability to execute a multi-year strategic advocacy program.
• Commitment to Discord’s mission.
• Work experience on technology policy initiatives.
• Ability to translate complex technical information.
• Success building trust and consensus.
• Willingness to travel as necessary within the U.S.
