The Detroit Lions are looking to add a Football Systems Intern to our team for the summer. This position will utilize software development skills to assist the club’s Football Systems department in designing and implementing software for the club’s player personnel stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Summer Intern position will have daily responsibilities including, without limitation, the following:

Work with other members of the Football Systems department to create and maintain software applications for coaches, scouts, and other staff members within the front office. Collaborate with other developers to support and document existing applications and pipelines. Perform ad-hoc queries to extract and validate data from club’s internal databases.

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Will accept other responsibilities and duties required by the supervisor consistent with the objectives and essential functions of this position. Such responsibilities shall be incorporated into the position description if they are ongoing. Must be motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Maintain professionalism when communicating with internal and external contacts. Must be accurate and efficient with ability to meet deadlines. Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills. Must have the ability to gather and analyze information skillfully and develop solutions quickly and effectively. Will adjust work schedule to meet departmental demands. Will keep appropriate information confidential.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Passion for the game of football Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for developing software skills Coursework in computer science and/or software development or equivalent experience Knowledge of any of the following: C#, C++, SQL, JavaScript, Python, React
