Tax Specialist, Private Credit

Job Description

Point72 is seeking a Tax Specialist to join its Tax team in Stamford, focusing on the private credit business. The Tax team oversees tax compliance for numerous funds, companies, and individuals, and manages tax-related projects. The specialist will play a vital role in supporting the firm's hedge fund tax processes.

Role involves:

• Providing tax guidance for the private credit business.
• Managing tax compliance for private credit fund vehicles.
• Preparing and reviewing book to tax adjustment workpapers.
• Using Microsoft Excel for data manipulation.
• Partnering with the Tax Technology team on automation.
• Collaborating with various teams on business topics.
• Researching tax issues related to the hedge fund business.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in U.S. taxation, ideally with a focus on private credit and/or hedge funds.
• Experience with private credit taxation, especially season & sell structures and loan origination tax considerations for offshore investors.
• Experience with hedge fund and financial product taxation.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA license.
• Proven track record of automation initiatives.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Effective communication skills.
