Structural Analyst II/ Senior Structural Analyst I – Mission Formulation

Job Description

Rocket Lab is seeking a Structural Analyst II/ Senior Structural Analyst I to join their Mission Formulation team in Long Beach, CA. This role involves developing high-performance launch vehicle systems and supporting the Launch Systems Business Development and Strategy team. The analyst will collaborate with engineering and production teams to bring new launch and mission concepts to life, including classified missions on HASTE and Electron launch vehicles. This position offers opportunities for end-to-end hardware development and seeing designs reach space.Role involves:

• Performing Multiphysics structural, thermal, vibration, fatigue, and fracture analyses.
• Creating system, subassemblies, and individual parts analytical models.
• Collaborating with the design team and stakeholders to finalize hardware designs.
• Defining and executing structural testing to validate designs.
• Analyzing test and flight data to correlate models and improve model fidelity.
• Documenting analyses and designs for presentation and hardware implementation.
• Developing standard practices for structural analysis.

Requirements for Structural Analyst II:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in structural, vibration, and thermal analysis for aerospace hardware.
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA).
• Experience with analysis and sizing of structures.
• Experience with engineering programming (Python, MATLAB, etc.).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD US Government Secret security clearance.

Requirements for Senior Structural Analyst I:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in structural, vibration, and thermal analysis for aerospace hardware.
• Experience performing finite element analysis (FEA).
• Experience with analysis and sizing of structures.
• Experience with engineering programming (Python, MATLAB, etc.).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD US Government Secret security clearance.
