Job Description
Discord is seeking a Senior Developer Advocate to support and inspire its growing game developer community. This role involves building relationships, engaging with community feedback, and representing developer needs within the company. The Senior Developer Advocate will collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Marketing teams to improve developer experiences and grow the app ecosystem. They will also host community events, lead technical workshops, and deliver talks to attract new game developers to the Discord platform.
What This Role Involves:
- Supporting platform developers through documentation and code samples.
- Driving improvements for game developers on Discord's platform.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to highlight unique apps.
- Hosting community events and technical workshops.
- Serving as an expert resource for the developer community.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in developer advocacy, engineering, or related technical roles.
- Proven ability to explain complex technical subjects.
- Experience creating content like blogs or YouTube videos.
- Confidence in presenting to diverse audiences.
- Passion for delivering technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of API design and development best practices.
- Experience collecting and analyzing data.
- Experience working within cross-functional teams.
- Practical experience building games or tools for game developers.
- Experience with a gaming platform like Unity, Unreal Engine, or Godot.
