The position will be hybrid with required onsite days in Downtown Chicago and Elmhurst.
About the role:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee and optimize financial operations within a high-transaction environment. This role focuses on process automation, enhancing internal controls, and leveraging our new ERP system, Microsoft D365. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset to accounting operations, a passion for efficiency, and the ability to scale processes to meet our growing needs.
General Ledger Management: Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all journal entries and reconciliations. ERP Optimization: Lead ongoing enhancements of Microsoft D365 to improve accounting workflows, reporting accuracy, and transaction management. Financial Reporting: Design and implement new financial reports to provide actionable insights, improve decision-making, and support strategic planning for leadership and stakeholders. Order to Cash Process Automation: Oversee the Order-to-Cash process with a focus on automating and optimizing workflows to enhance efficiency and scalability, including managing customer collections through Stripe and facilitating organizer payouts across multiple payment platforms. High-Volume Transaction Oversight: Manage accounting operations for the DG platform, which has significant daily transaction volume, ensuring compliance with company policies and GAAP standards. Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal control procedures to safeguard financial data. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Growth) to ensure accounting processes align with business goals. Reporting & Compliance: Prepare accurate financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholders.Experience & Skills we value:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred. Experience: 5-7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a tech or high-volume transaction environment. ERP Expertise: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is preferred, including optimization of systems. Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools is a plus. Process-Oriented: Strong background in process improvement, automation, and scaling accounting operations. Analytical Mindset: Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. Reporting Skills: Proven ability to build and optimize financial reporting frameworks, including dashboards and detailed performance metrics. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly. Base Pay range for this position:
$80,000 - $100,000 annually Target Annual Reward Plan (ARP): 15% of base payThe final discretionary compensation that will be offered for this role depends on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
