Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Flight Software Tools Manager to lead and oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of software tools supporting our EVTOL aircraft development programs. The role focuses on managing the software tools infrastructure, including testing, integration, development processes, and maintenance that support Midnight aircraft systems including Flight Controls, Electric Engine, and Battery Management, 

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the product owner for all software tools required to support Archer software.   This includes software tools that interface with aircraft software and facilitate lab testing, flight test interface, software data loading and manufacturing integration. Work with cross-functional owners to define product roadmaps for tools and turn these into development plans. Define and manage a detailed task breakdown to distribute work to team members and establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor team performance. Lead the strategy, selection, and implementation of software development and testing tools across multiple flight software teams. Oversee internal tool development efforts for requirements management, traceability, software loading, and debugging applications. Establish and maintain tool configuration management processes and version control. Develop and implement tool deployment strategies across development teams Create and manage training programs for tool usage and best practices. Collaborate with third-party vendors for tool acquisition, support, and maintenance. Monitor and optimize tool performance and usage across the organization.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field 7+ years of experience in software development tools management 5+ years of experience with automated testing environments and integration tools Experience with C#, C++, python development. Strong background in configuration management and version control systems. Knowledge of software development lifecycle processes. Proven track record of managing relationships with third-party tool vendors. Strong leadership and team management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with DO-178 certification processes and tool qualification Background in aerospace or aviation software development Experience with EVTOL or similar aircraft systems Knowledge of flight control systems and embedded software development Master's degree in related field Experience with custom tool development and maintenance Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools Familiarity with NI and dSpace HW/SW test platforms.

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $163,200.00 - $204,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
