Staff Backend Engineer

Monzo is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to join their team in Barcelona, Spain. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and support Monzo's banking platform. • Collaborating with product managers, marketers, designers, and other engineers
• Building and supporting a part of Monzo's banking platform
• Working in a squad within collectives like Money, Borrowing, or Customer Operations
• Using tools and technologies like Go, Cassandra, Kafka, and Kubernetes

Requirements:

• Strong experience in backend development
• Product mindset with a focus on customer outcomes
• Comfort working in ambiguous environments
• Interest in distributed systems and resilient software
• Experience with strongly-typed languages (Go, Java, C, Scala etc.)
