Job Description
Vercel is seeking a Sales Engineer, EMEA to join their team. In this role, the individual will combine their technical knowledge with persuasive sales skills to enable the power of Vercel's advanced platform to be realized by frontend teams working on innovative digital projects. The Sales Engineer will report to the Director of Sales Engineering and will be responsible for answering technical questions, advising on standard methodologies, identifying and uncovering current needs, exploring and validating potential solutions, and supporting the project's benefits and viability for enterprise prospects.
What This Role Involves:
- Providing technical support to the sales team, prospects, and customers throughout the entire sales cycle
- Being the expert in Vercel's platform, solutions, and services and how they can be applied to solve business needs
- Developing and presenting demonstrations of the Vercel solutions
- Managing and running PoCs, guiding measures of success and towards meaningful outcomes
- Responding to Security Documents, coordinating with other internal specialist teams
- Responding to RFPs and other required formal written responses for sales opportunities
- Being an interface to Product and Engineering teams, representing Voice of Customer
Requirements:
- Deployed Next.js or React.js applications to a production environment
- Worked on teams self-hosting Next.js on their Kubernetes (k8s) cluster
- Expertise in internet technologies: TCP, DNS, HTTP(S), TLS
- Passion for helping people develop an accurate mental model of how technology works and the ability to quickly build a rapport and become a trusted advisor
- Ability to weave together discussions about business benefits, strategic value, and technical efficacy with the ability to envision, create and develop custom demos
- Understanding of how to lead a project and prioritize between competing demands
- Strong technical skills, ideally from software development experience or previous pre-sales experience
- Awareness of the broader technical ecosystems, including Headless CMS, Media, payments, eCommerce, Analytics, etc.
- Experience with load and performance testing for enterprise web applications
- Understanding of best practices in enterprise network architecture and security
- 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing sales or consulting role
