Gravity Well is seeking an Environment Artist with a focus on Hard Surface modeling to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for crafting stylized, painterly assets, contributing to world-building efforts, and demonstrating meticulous attention to detail. This role involves close collaboration with various disciplines to meet gameplay requirements while upholding artistic standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Create painterly vehicles, guns, hard surface props, textures, and materials.
  • Collaborate with the Art Team and Game Designers to create stylized 3D environments.
  • Iterate on ideas and refine assets based on feedback.
  • Learn different game-making processes and contribute creative ideas.
  • Participate in playtesting and engage with team members.
  • Work within a small environment art team.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience working in games.
  • Shipped Games in Unreal Engine 4/5.
  • Deep knowledge of either Maya, Blender, 3ds Max.
  • Deep knowledge of Photoshop, Zbrush, Substance, Marmoset and other 2D/3D tools.
  • Expertise in Hard Surface modeling.
  • Deep understanding of PBR rules.
  • Deep understanding of forms, shape language, design, light and composition.
  • Understanding of Retopology, UVs and baking techniques.
