Gravity Well is seeking an Environment Artist with a focus on Hard Surface modeling to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for crafting stylized, painterly assets, contributing to world-building efforts, and demonstrating meticulous attention to detail. This role involves close collaboration with various disciplines to meet gameplay requirements while upholding artistic standards.
Responsibilities:
- Create painterly vehicles, guns, hard surface props, textures, and materials.
- Collaborate with the Art Team and Game Designers to create stylized 3D environments.
- Iterate on ideas and refine assets based on feedback.
- Learn different game-making processes and contribute creative ideas.
- Participate in playtesting and engage with team members.
- Work within a small environment art team.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience working in games.
- Shipped Games in Unreal Engine 4/5.
- Deep knowledge of either Maya, Blender, 3ds Max.
- Deep knowledge of Photoshop, Zbrush, Substance, Marmoset and other 2D/3D tools.
- Expertise in Hard Surface modeling.
- Deep understanding of PBR rules.
- Deep understanding of forms, shape language, design, light and composition.
- Understanding of Retopology, UVs and baking techniques.
