Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA) is seeking an experienced credit analyst for an ABS - Associate position in their Chicago office. The role involves working within the Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) team, analyzing consumer or commercial/esoteric ABS sectors. The candidate will engage in all aspects of the rating process and should demonstrate adaptability and critical thinking.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting transaction analysis, including originator/servicer evaluation, collateral performance, and loan pool analysis.
  • Modeling and analyzing bond structures.
  • Reviewing legal structures and documentation.
  • Preparing credit memoranda and presenting transactions to rating committees.
  • Preparing individual transaction reports for publication.
  • Contributing to market commentaries.
  • Serving as a secondary contact for investors, clients, and structuring banks.
  • Engaging in ongoing surveillance of rated transactions and updating ratings as warranted.
  • Attending seller/servicer due diligence, investor discussions, and industry events.

Requirements include:

  • B.A. / B.S. degree in a relevant field of study.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of demonstrated experience in credit analysis within the ABS sector.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical skills relating to transaction evaluation.
  • Proficiency with relevant financial modeling software (e.g., Intex).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
