Mobile Apps - Architect at Betsson Group

Betsson Group is seeking an experienced Architect to join its architecture team in Malta, focusing on native application development for iOS and Android platforms. The Architect will design and implement scalable, efficient, and robust solutions for Betsson's mobile applications. They will play a critical role in driving the company's mobile strategy, ensuring the delivery of high-quality apps that meet customers' needs.

The role involves:

• Providing architectural guidance and support to various teams within the Group.
• Collaborating closely with Software Engineers and Product Managers to prioritize initiatives.
• Focusing on mobile native solutions while understanding their fit within the broader Betsson domain.
• Working with Area Architects, Tech Leads, and Team Leads.
• Developing architectural solutions for iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) platforms.
• Ensuring mobile architecture aligns with the overall enterprise architecture strategy.
• Leading mobile architecture discussions and decisions.
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to mobile development teams in Swift and Kotlin.
• Optimizing mobile applications for speed and scalability.
• Overseeing the quality of the development process.
• Supporting People Leads, Development Teams, and Product Managers on technical approaches.
• Participating in workshops, design reviews, and knowledge-transfer sessions.
• Identifying refactoring activities for technical debt, performance, and security.
• Contributing to formalizing architecture governance principles.

Requirements:

• Experience working on large-scale/high-load platforms.
• Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or similar, with a focus on iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) applications.
• Deep understanding of mobile architecture, design patterns, and mobile ecosystems.
• Experience with APIs and mobile backend integration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Fluent communication in English.
