Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA) is seeking a Director to join their Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) team in Chicago. The Director will play a crucial role in the transaction rating team, participating in all aspects of the rating process, from collateral analysis to report publication, while managing and mentoring junior staff. This role involves significant client interaction and industry engagement.Responsibilities include:
  • Conducting thorough transaction analysis, including originator/servicer evaluation and collateral performance.
  • Serving as the lead analyst and primary contact for clients, deal arrangers, and investors.
  • Preparing credit memoranda and presenting transactions to rating committees.
  • Leading the development of rating methodologies and market commentaries.
  • Surveilling and monitoring rated transactions.
  • Managing and mentoring junior analysts.
Requirements include:
  • More than 10 years of experience in credit analysis within the ABS sector
  • Direct experience with both consumer and commercial ABS asset classes
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong analytical skills in transaction evaluation
  • Proficiency with financial modeling software (e.g., Intex)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Generative AI tools is a plus
