impact.com is seeking an Associate Software Engineer II to join their team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will focus on delivering tasks, reviewing code, and expanding their knowledge of the technologies used by the team. This role requires an understanding of various aspects of software development and the ability to apply solutions to new challenges independently. They will work with a team that manages both frontend and backend services, making full-stack experience highly desirable.

The Associate Software Engineer II will contribute to the department's objectives by developing, testing, and maintaining software for the platform. They will collaborate with a distributed team, write and maintain documentation, and perform triage by verifying and fixing bugs. This individual will also build both backend and frontend services and participate in production deployments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing, testing, and maintaining software for the platform.
  • Building meaningful unit and functional tests for software.
  • Collaborating with a distributed team.
  • Developing code independently and while pair programming.
  • Writing and maintaining design, user and test documentation.
  • Becoming familiar with technologies used on the squad.
  • Performing triage functionality through verification and fixing of bugs.
  • Building both backend and frontend services and dealing with Production Deployments.

Requirements include:

  • Completed B.S. in Computer Science (Honours) or related field or equivalent professional experience
  • Desire to work with Java, Spring, React and related Technologies
  • 1 - 2 years experience in Software development
  • Agile / Iterative processes. Kanban / Scrum
  • Knowledge of Relational Databases, Table design, SQL
