Impact.com is seeking a Software Engineer II to focus on delivering stories, monitoring production environments, and managing deployments. The role involves utilizing the latest language features and implementing suitable design patterns. The candidate should have experience with integration tests and CI, and be comfortable reusing existing frameworks.

What this role involves:

  • Developing, testing, and maintaining software for the Platform.
  • Building meaningful unit, functional, and integration level tests.
  • Collaborating with a distributed team to fulfill objectives.
  • Developing code independently and via pair programming.
  • Writing and maintaining design, user, and test documentation.
  • Becoming familiar with technologies used by the squad.
  • Performing triage functionality via bug verification and fixing.
  • Creating SQL for Tech Updates and ensuring readiness for review.
  • Keeping abreast of trends and advancements and incorporating improvements.
  • Reviewing business needs, requirements, technical specifications.
  • Responding to alerts, reviewing error messages and fixing bugs.
  • Mentoring junior staff.
  • Performing code reviews and approving pull requests.
  • Maintaining build and stage stability.
  • Researching and prototyping new technologies Design software solutions

Requirements:

  • Initiative and Adaptability

  • Completed B.S. in Computer Science or related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience working with Java, Spring and related Technologies.
  • 6+ years of Software Development experience.
  • Agile / Iterative processes. Kanban / Scrum knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Relational Databases, Table design, SQL.
  • TDD experience.
  • Continuous Integration / Delivery methods, tooling, integrations.
  • Experience working with Large Scale processing.
  • Experience in monitoring, alerting and production support.
  • Good understanding of JVM and Garbage Collection.
