Senior Privacy Counsel, EMEA at Anthropic

Anthropic is seeking a Senior Privacy Counsel, EMEA to join their Legal team in Dublin, Ireland. The Senior Privacy Counsel will play a crucial role in shaping the company's EU privacy and data protection strategy and compliance program.

The role involves developing and implementing comprehensive EU privacy and data protection strategies, providing expert legal advice on privacy laws, collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate privacy-by-design principles, maintaining relationships with regulators, and collaborating on the maintenance of the GDPR compliance program.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive EU privacy and data protection strategies.
• Provide expert legal advice and guidance on privacy, data protection laws.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement privacy-by-design principles.
• Maintain relationships with key regulators.
• Collaborate with our privacy program team on the maintenance and maturation of our GDPR compliance program.
• Keep abreast of legislative and regulatory developments affecting privacy and data protection laws.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of privacy and data protection legal experience.
• A law degree and are qualified to practice as a lawyer in at least one member state of the European Union
• Deep knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
• Extensive experience advising on privacy, data protection, and direct marketing laws.
• Strong understanding of the interplay between privacy, security, and AI.
• Excellent leadership skills.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proven ability to think strategically and translate complex legal concepts.
• Full professional fluency in English; proficiency in additional European languages is a plus.
