Financial & Business Controller at SurePay

SurePay is seeking a Financial & Business Controller to join their Finance team in Utrecht. This role involves working closely with the CFO and managing a Finance Officer. The candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, annual accounts, payments & cash management, fiscal reporting, and budgeting & forecasting. They will also support business teams with reporting, KPI tracking, commercial finance, and business case reviews.SurePay requires someone dependable, forward-thinking, and analytically strong to manage all finance-related matters. The role involves ensuring correct and timely financial administration and advising on financial impacts, providing insights and strategic guidance to the CFO and Management Team.Responsibilities:

• Month-end financial close & reporting
• Annual budget & rolling forecast
• Monthly management & investor reporting
• Invoicing & payments
• Statutory accounts & fiscal reporting
• Manage subsidies & grants
• Review business cases & investment proposals
• Track and advise the business on progress, opportunities, best practices, KPI's etc.

Requirements:

• 4-6 years of experience in financial roles
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
• Forward-thinking and commercial mindset
• Strategic thinking ability
• Hands-on, analytical, detail-oriented, and accurate
• Fluency in English (Dutch preferred)
• Ability to work in a dynamic start-up environment
• Experience in a Big Four audit firm preferred
