Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Ratings Legal Attorney to join their CMBS new issuance ratings group in New York. This role involves working alongside ratings analysts to identify, evaluate, and articulate key legal and credit features and risks in CMBS transactions. The attorney will also engage in investor outreach, contribute to research reports and methodology reviews.KBRA is looking for someone with strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities: - Reviewing offering and transaction documents, articulating legal and credit concerns.
- Identifying and evaluating the potential credit impact of transaction and loan structures.
- Coordinating with rating analysts on relevant legal issues.
- Participating in rating committees.
- Supporting the analytical team with the preparation of KBRA’s rating and research reports.
- Assisting the CMBS Surveillance group with Rating Agency Confirmation (RAC) requests.
Requirements: - Four to eight years of experience focused on CMBS and/or commercial real estate finance.
- JD and admission to the New York bar.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent research, analytical and organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as to collaborate with others in a collegial environment.
- Skilled at working on multiple transactions simultaneously in an organized fashion and able to meet deadlines.
