In 2024, Noora Health was honored to be featured in an essay in The New York Times which vividly captured a universal story of love and compassion through our collaboration with Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research in Bangalore, India.

Yayasan Noora Health Indonesia (YNHI) was established in 2023 to implement the evidence-based and globally recognized Care Companion Program (CCP). YNHI is affiliated to and works closely with Noora Health, a US-based health systems strengthening organization, that designed, developed, and implemented the Care Companion Program. The CCP focuses on training and empowering family members of patients across the health system, equipping them with high-impact health skills required to become impactful caregivers to their loved ones and enable their recovery at home. The CCP is currently implemented at >1000 health facilities in India, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Nepal.

YNHI will support and assist the Indonesian public health system to implement CCP across city, district, provincial, and national levels, thereby enabling improvements in health outcomes for patients and improved quality of health services and care delivery. Currently, we working on 7 district in Indonesia and expecting to expand to more then 20 district on 2027 to achieve 7 million caregivers through care companion program or in Indonesia we called Program Pendampingan Pengasuhan Keluarga.

NOTE: This is an 8-month interim consultant hire to cover maternity leave, from March to October 2025. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Program Design and Development (PDD) team in Indonesia is seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, and detail-oriented Associate Content Writer. This role is responsible for creating user-centered content that is clear, concise, and impactful, with the goal of promoting family caregiving practice through the health system. The Junior Content Writer will play a critical role in shaping how people with medical conditions, caregivers, and healthcare workers understand key messages related to basic caregiving and specific medical skills. The position also involves ensuring that all materials are accessible, empathetic, and aligned with the organization’s mission. Additionally, the role contributes to the development and implementation of strategic communication plans.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Content Writing

Writing and editing content to enhance user engagement and drive behavior change. Developing materials for print, digital platforms, and in-person training, including flip charts, posters, slides, and video scripts targeting healthcare workers, caregivers, and individuals with medical conditions in Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).

Collaboration

Collaborating with the PDD team and cross-teams across different units within Indonesia and global Noora Health team to understand user needs and align content with program design objectives. Providing communication support to ensure the program achieves its overall goals.

User-Centered Approach

Participating in user research and testing activities to gain insights into the target audience and improve content effectiveness. Revising and refining content based on feedback from users, stakeholders, and team members.

Localization and Adaptation

Adapting content for various cultural and linguistic contexts, ensuring clarity and sensitivity across diverse audiences in Indonesia. Bringing a basic understanding of cultural practices in East Java, Central Java, and Yogyakarta is preferred.

Consistency and Standards

Maintaining consistency in content strategy, tone guidelines, and messaging across materials. Ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic communication objectives and terminology.

Willingness to Travel

Open to traveling to various cities to support needs assessment and research activities.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Qualifications

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, mass media, or a related field. However, this position is open to candidates from any background. They have 1–3 years of experience in content writing, content design, or communication. Familiarity with the health sector, particularly in Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), is preferred.

Skills:

Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail. Ability to simplify complex information into clear, user-friendly language. Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Miro) and content management systems (e.g. Notion) is a plus. Understanding of user-centered design principles, research and accessibility standards.

Attributes:

Empathy for users and a passion for creating impactful content. Strong collaboration and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
