Job Description
Les Films Sony Imageworks is seeking an Animator to create animated characters and objects. The Animator will use traditional methods and computer graphics systems to animate characters, conveying emotion through body language and facial expressions. They will be responsible for meeting schedules, participating in reviews, and problem-solving with the team. The role requires strong communication skills in both French and English.
Responsibilities include:
  • Creating animated characters and objects.
  • Animating primary and secondary characters.
  • Conveying emotion through body language and facial expressions.
  • Meeting schedules and show deadlines.
  • Participating in dailies, rounds, and team reviews.
  • Problem-solving and sharing information with the team.
  • Following shot turnovers, dailies, briefings, and feedback.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of animation principles.
  • Knowledge of Maya.
  • Background in fine art with understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, and form.
  • Knowledge of human and animal anatomy and life drawing skills (desirable).
  • 2-year diploma or 1-year certificate (most desired) or 2-3 years of relevant experience (minimum).
  • Demo reel illustrating relevant artistic and technical experience.
