Experienced Animator

Job Description

Les Films Sony Imageworks Québec Inc. is seeking an Experienced Animator to join their team in Montreal. The Animator will be responsible for creating animated characters and objects that meet the required direction, conveying emotion through body language and facial expressions. The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently as part of a team or independently to resolve various design solutions.

Role Involves:

• Creating animated characters and objects.
• Animating primary and secondary characters.
• Conveying emotion through body language and facial expressions.
• Meeting schedules and show deadlines.
• Participating in dailies, rounds, and team reviews.
• Interacting with production, supervisors, and team members.
• Following shot turnovers, dailies, briefings, notes, and feedback.

Requirements:

• A strong understanding of the principles of animation.
• Knowledge of applicable software packages including Maya.
• Background or experience in fine art.
• Knowledge of human and animal anatomy as well as life drawing skills are desirable.
• Minimum requirement of 3+ years production experience or feature film experience preferred.
• Must be able to provide a demo reel.
• Excellent communication skills in both French and English.
