Job Description
Sony Pictures Imageworks is seeking a skilled FX Artist to join their team in Vancouver. This role involves designing, creating, and animating digital effects for computer-generated FX animation. The FX Artist will be responsible for developing solutions that meet the artistic and technical direction of the project. They will also participate in dailies, rounds, and team reviews to problem-solve and share information. The ideal candidate should be able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and creating digital effects elements.
- Developing effects pipelines, tools, and techniques.
- Meeting productivity and quota targets.
- Participating in team reviews and problem-solving.
- Following shot turnovers and feedback.
Requirements:
- Ability to create multiple types of digital effects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Houdini.
- General knowledge of VEX, shading, lighting, and rendering.
- Attention to detail and a strong eye for physical simulation.
- Working knowledge of Linux.
- Experience in feature films or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Katana, Nuke, and Python is a plus.
