Job Description
Sony Pictures Imageworks is seeking a Stylized Look of Picture Developer to support the development of stylized non-photorealistic rendering techniques. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative styles similar to those seen in films like Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Mitchells Vs. The Machines.The Stylized Look of Picture Developer will:
  • Write tools for the Shading, Rendering, and Compositing teams.
  • Educate and support artists using these tools.
  • Document and create examples of the tool’s output.
  • Streamline existing toolsets to increase team efficiency.
Requirements for this role include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of developing tools for the NPR pipeline.
  • Advanced experience programming in Python, OSL, and C++ with high-level technical ability using Katana, Houdini, and Maya.
  • Experience with Nuke’s Python APIs, NDK, gizmos, BlinkScript, and compositing workflows.
  • Minimum of 3 years creating libraries, custom plugins, and UI tools for VFX studios.
  • Knowledge of UI design and toolkits, specifically QT/PyQT.
  • Knowledge of compositing, lighting, and studio pipeline development.
  • Experience with UNIX / Linux / git.
  • Creativity, self-sufficiency, and drive.
