Job Description

Sony Pictures Imageworks Vancouver is looking for a Matte Painter to create digital matte paintings under the guidance of the Environment Supervisor or Matte Painting Lead. The Matte Painter will use live-action elements, still photography, concept art, rendered CG elements, and digital painted elements to meet the creative direction of the project.

Role involves:

  • Creating digital matte paintings.
  • Using live-action elements, still photography, concept art, rendered CG elements, and digital painted elements.
  • Working under the guidance of the Environment Supervisor or Matte Painting Lead.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Maya, and Nuke is required.
  • Knowledge of other tools such as Katana, Mari, Houdini, Speedtree or Linux is a plus.
  • A 2-year diploma or 1-year certificate is desired, but 2-3 years of relevant experience may be accepted.
  • A demo reel that illustrates relevant artistic and technical experience.
