aCommerce is seeking a Data Engineer to build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines and design data models within their cloud-based Big Data Platform. This role involves working with marketplace data to facilitate data utilization and aligning with application teams and product managers.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software for extracting business events from supply chain applications.
  • Develop systems for extracting business events from support systems (CRM, ecommerce, etc.).
  • Design data models for storing and managing business events.
  • Design and develop aggregation datasets optimized for analysis and visualization.
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence analysts to provide self-service tools for data extraction and transformation.
  • Write queries for extracting data from the data warehouse into data marts.
  • Coach and develop other engineers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • 2-3 years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge in SQL, relational database design, and efficient methods for working with large data.
  • Strong knowledge in Python.
  • Understanding of fundamental design principles behind data-oriented applications.
  • Experience with big data ecosystems is a plus.
  • Experience with AWS platform is a plus.
  • Experience with data modeling is a plus.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and express them in computer language.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both written and oral form.
