Educate! is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Analytics Engineer to support the setup and maintenance of its data governance and analytics infrastructure. As Educate! grows its impact across East Africa, having reliable, well-structured data is crucial for measuring and improving programs. This role will be fundamental in building the foundation for how Educate! collects, transforms, and utilizes data across the organization.

The Analytics Engineer will be instrumental in creating consistent metric definitions, implementing robust data quality frameworks, and building efficient data transformations that enable reliable impact measurement. This role will work closely with the M&E and technology teams to establish data standards, implement quality controls, and create scalable analytics infrastructure.

What this role involves:

  • Designing and implementing data models using dbt
  • Ensuring efficient transformations and data quality through testing, monitoring, and alerting systems.
  • Contributing to data governance by standardizing naming conventions, calculations, and documentation.
  • Helping establish best practices for SQL/dbt development, testing, and technical documentation.

Requirements:

  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience with dbt
  • Solid grasp of Git, data modeling, and data quality
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to document work and collaborate with diverse teams
  • Experience with NGO/M&E data, data collection tools, impact measurement, or data governance is a plus
