Security Operations Engineer

Job Description

Hudson River Trading (HRT) seeks a Security Operations Engineer to join its Security Operations team. The candidate will design, build, and support solutions impacting HRT’s global cyber security systems. The role requires knowledge of SIEM, EDR, DLP, and SOAR platforms, proficiency with Python and Elastic stack. Exceptional organizational, communication, project management, and technical troubleshooting skills are needed.

Responsibilities include:

• Building and maintaining HRT’s security detection and response program.
• Building and maintaining pipelines to ingest, parse, map, enrich, visualize, and analyze raw logs.
• Hunting for, detecting, and responding to malicious activity and anomalous events.
• Performing digital forensics and incident response (DFIR) tasks.
• Assisting with third party vendor security posture reviews.
• Collaborating with the end user support team on investigations.
• Maintaining and enhancing HRT's data loss prevention rules.
• Analyzing network activity to identify and remediate malicious activity.

Requirements include:

• 5+ years of experience in cyber security.
• Experience with threat detection and threat hunting, preferably using automation.
• Python programming experience.
• Experience using log analysis platforms such as ELK and Splunk.
• Experience with Linux (Debian is a plus), Windows, and macOS.
• Experience in performing network analysis with artifacts such as PCAPs, NetFlow, and network logs.
