Senior Software Engineer - Development Tools

Job Description

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to enhance its Developer Experience team in Austin, TX. This role focuses on creating internal tools that empower developers and improve their efficiency. The selected candidate will collaborate with researchers and engineers to develop high-impact products and support new company initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Develop software for various departments at HRT using Python or C++.
• Manage the complete lifecycle of applications, from design to production.
• Build Python or C++ tooling and environments for all developers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Extensive Python OR C++ experience with recent standards.
• Exceptional design, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of UNIX operating systems (Linux), system/processor performance, and network communication.
• Ability to describe software designs at various levels of detail.
• Experience with design and implementation of distributed systems is preferred.
