Job Description

Hudson River Trading is seeking an Equities Risk Manager to join their team in NYC. This role offers the opportunity to design, manage, and communicate market and liquidity risk for equity strategies, collaborating closely with risk and trading teams.

The Equities Risk Manager will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of equities trading risk, influencing a successful business within Hudson River Trading. This position demands a wide range of skills applicable across various trading styles and investment horizons.

• Designing new risk controls for equity arbitrage strategies.
• Real-time monitoring of intraday risk limits.
• Investigating the root cause of risk limit breaches.
• Analyzing historical measures to calibrate thresholds.
• Identifying gaps in the monitoring of market and operational risk.
• Evaluating bespoke trading opportunities.
• Working on tactical projects with Finance, Operations and Engineering teams.

Requirements:

• B.S. in mathematics, physics, economics, computer science, electrical engineering or statistics.
• 3+ years of experience as a risk manager focusing on equity arbitrage trading.
• Solid understanding of equity risk models and equity portfolio risk.
• Working knowledge of equity arbitrage strategies.
• Professional programming experience (Python preferred).
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
