Job Description
Hudson River Trading is seeking a Market Structure Optimization Engineer to join their Market Structure Analytics team. This role is based in Chicago, Illinois. The engineer will employ data-driven methodologies to minimize friction in real-time interaction with financial markets, optimizing the firm's connection with trading venues.Role Involves:
- Analyzing time series network and exchange protocol captures.
- Becoming familiar with specific markets, attending presentations, and liaising with exchange counterparts.
- Researching exchange features, capabilities, and architecture.
- Automating the collection and visualization of metrics.
- Formulating and conducting experiments to measure the impact of changes to trading infrastructure.
- Communicating ideas, requirements, and results across teams.
- Improving the fill rate of hardware-based trading strategies.
- Reducing the incidence of cancel-reject responses.
- Investigating and reporting details of various latency-sensitive exchanges.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in data analytics, including statistics and data visualization.
- Experience working with large datasets.
- Basic understanding of TCP and UDP network protocols.
- Extensive experience with Python and data libraries (Pandas, Numpy/Scipy).
- Familiarity with modern computer systems and networks.
- A degree in Data Analytics or a related field.
- Professional experience in latency reduction, preferably in finance.
- Basic understanding of proprietary trading and exchange technologies.
