Job Description
Elastic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Platform Control Plane team. This role involves evolving and operating control plane services for Self-Managed, Hosted, and Serverless environments, with a focus on Kubernetes adoption. The engineer will participate in coding, technical design, debugging, and prioritizing security and bug fixes. They will analyze system strengths and limitations, refactor services, and participate in an on-call rotation.
Role Involves:
- Contributing to the development of Scala codebases.
- Operating systems by participating in on-call rotation.
- Collaborating with Support engineers.
- Improving existing services for security, stability, and reliability.
- Designing, building, and maintaining software for cloud offerings.
- Debugging production issues involving distributed systems.
- Working cross-team on solving problems and delivering projects.
Requirements:
- A record of software engineering excellence.
- Experience with Scala or JVM-based programming languages.
- 3+ years as a backend engineer in the IAM space OR 5+ years as a backend engineer.
- Passion for automation and quality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
