Job Description

Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking an Accountant to join their Finance team in Bangalore, India. This role reports to an Accounting Manager and focuses on cash management, leases, and fixed asset processes.

The Accountant will handle daily bank downloads, prepare journals, perform bank reconciliations, and prepare monthly MIS reports. They will also participate in automation projects and partner with various departments within the Finance and Accounting organization.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, problem-solver, and possess strong attention to detail. They should be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a passion for process improvement.

What this role involves:

  • Extracting bank statements and preparing journals
  • Working on cash entries, bank matches, and reconciliations
  • Performing close activities and ensuring the accuracy of entries
  • Extracting reports and capitalizing assets
  • Working on additions, disposals, and transfer entries for fixed assets
  • Reviewing expense accounts related to fixed assets and running depreciation
  • Preparing fixed asset roll forward
  • Performing basic lease-related entries and reconciling GLs
  • Handling month-end and quarter-end reporting activities
  • Maintaining a basic understanding of SOX controls
  • Focusing on improving system efficiencies and business processes

Requirements:

  • CA credentials preferred; Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience with a high-growth tech public company/MNC
  • US GAAP related working experience
  • Experience working with FP&A, General Ledger team, Consolidations, Transfer pricing calculations
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with NetSuite
  • Prior experience with Big Four preferred
  • Experience with Alteryx preferred
  • Experience with Exactly/CEA is a bonus
  • Outstanding attention to detail
