Canonical is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on optimizing Ubuntu for public cloud infrastructure, working closely with partners like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for the stability and functionality of Ubuntu images used by millions of cloud users. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and management skills, including direct partner engagement.
The Engineering Manager's primary responsibility is to support their team members, ensuring their growth, valuable contributions, and overall job satisfaction. Technical leadership and a solid background in software development are essential for challenging and developing the team. The role involves influencing culture, facilitating technical delivery, and collaborating on strategy and execution.
The role involves:
- Building and leading a team of engineers.

Requirements:
- Experience mentoring and developing people.
- Knowledge and passion for software development.
- Focus on delivering high-quality software.
- Experience with agile development methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or similar.
- Software development experience in Python or Golang.
- Effective communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS.
